Shortly after Albert’s death, Corky joined the family business and helped expand it in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. “It was just an experience being with Artie. Severson was constantly by Stevenson’s side as they went around the world, from one adventure to the next. “Artie Hair from Humble, Texas, became Artie Stevenson, citizen of the world,” said grandson John Albert Severson, better known as Corky.Īlthough Stevenson bounced around the world and was in and out of royal homes in Europe and Asia, she always wanted to come back to her Long Beach home.Īlbert died suddenly in 1968, but Stevenson didn’t become disheartened and continued Albert’s legacy, remaining in the business until she died.
